Best Ribs in the BVI’s? – Go Directly to the Bee Line!

coastiebob

Best ribs in the BVI's is a tall claim. However, I believe it. Amanda from Kansas City believes it. Andrew Thompson from Horizon Yacht Charters fame believes it. Trying is believing and we all recommend you try the ribs at Bee Line on Little Jost Van Dyke. Then let us know. However, to try them, you must order in advance!

Bee Line is owned by Bunky Callwood. He is a wonderful, laid back guy. Since the Bee Line is on quiet Little Jost, most people who visit do so intentionally. They enjoy the ribs or the curried chicken, the lawn games, and Bunky’s signature drink, the Passion Confusion. It is a fruity, slightly sweet drink, but strong. I love competing at almost any game and my favorite is bean bags (corn hole). One Passion Confusion gets me dialed in to my bean bag toss. Two Passion Confusions lead to victory. Three or four Passion Confusions may lead to defeat depending on the other team’s Passion Confusion state and whether Amanda can pull us across the finish line. She usually stays dialed in with one Passion Confusion.

We usually work Bee Line into the itinerary if we have an 8-day trip or if the weather just favors staying by Tortola/Jost Van Dyke. A typical day would look something like this. Sail from Cane Garden Bay or Jost Van Dyke to Sandy spit and explore/snorkel. We then grab a mooring ball in front of Bee Line and tender over to the dinghy dock at Foxy’s Taboo. From there, we do a short 15-minute hike to the Bubbly Pool and enjoy. The Bubbly Pool is a fan favorite and it always feels good to get out and walk a little after being on Detour for a few days. However, do be sure to wear your sandals as it is not a smooth path. Finally, we head back to the boat, pick up any stragglers, and head to the Bee Line for dinner and a fun evening.

To order your ribs, curry, or other dinner option, send Bunky a note on WhatsApp at +1(284)322-2304. Let him know your boat name and generally what time you plan to be there. Oh, and Amanda says don’t forget the plantains. Finally, enjoy!
