Living in Spokane, Washington, coffee is a thing. And Amanda and I like coffee. Not a little. A lot! Everybody knows where to go to get a Painkiller, a Bushwacker, etc. in the British Virgin Islands, but where to go to satisfy that good coffee fix? Fortunately, we discovered Island Roots.
Currently, Island Roots has a couple of locations. Downtown on Main Street and at the Nanny Cay Resort and Marina. Now, whenever we are in Tortola, we like to start and finish our trips with a tasty Iced Latte from the Nanny Cay location. They have some nice touches, such as coffee ice cubes, so that your drink is not watered down if it takes you more than two minutes to enjoy.
They are picky about where they get their beans and how they make their drinks. This in turn, translates to consistently delicious coffees.
One other thing that we really appreciate is the availability of some gluten free and/or vegan food items for those with food allergies. Amanda is Celiac, so finding tasty and healthy food for her during travel is hugely important to us. As an omnivore, I simply know that everything I have tried at Island Roots tastes good!
