Seddy’s One Love – The Bar is Great and So is the Owner

coastiebob

When visiting Jost Van Dyke’s White Bay, everyone needs to get a Pain Killer at The Soggy Dollar Bar. However, once you have enjoyed your drink and bought the t-shirt, move on down the beach to Seddy’s One Love Bar. Amanda and I have enjoyed this place every time we have visited. The One Love Bar is primarily known for two things, Bushwacker’s and the bar’s owner, Seddy. Bushwacker’s are a delicious, yet potent chocolate tasting blended beach bar drink. We have found that the One Love Bar consistently makes among the best, if not the best Bushwacker’s in the islands. That is reason enough to go. Get your drink on, sit outside, enjoy the view, the shade of the trees, and breeze off the ocean.

Now, if Seddy is there, you are in for a real treat. There is no doubt Seddy is an eccentric individual. As Amanda puts it, he seems to have a kind of sixth sense about people. Like he is looking into your soul. If you are feeling bold or need a little liquid encouragement, order a drink and make an introduction. You might get lucky if decides to provide some sage advice and/or one of his famous card tricks. The last time I was there, he did a string trick and said I needed to tie up some loose ends. Advice that I have taken to heart and ponder from time to time. He did a card trick for Amanda and I have no clue how he did it. The card trick he did for one of the ladies off another boat astounded me. I asked the locals at the bar if they knew how he did it the card trick and they said Seddy has been doing tricks for years. They don’t know how he pulls them off, but they love watching Seddy confound the tourists and are continually amazed.

One other thing about Seddy, he has a generous heart. A fisherman by trade, he brought out a lobster he caught and invited everyone on hand to try. Especially those who had never tasted a delicious Caribbean lobster before. And that sums up why Seddy’s One Love Bar is such a great place to visit.
